The permanent representative of the Aga Khan office, Hakim Frista, told Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev that the Aga Khan Foundation has transferred 2.5m dollars to the Dushanbe administration's account to improve conditions in Dushanbe to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tajikistan's anniversary. A document says that 100,000 dollars should be urgently transferred to Dushanbe administration's account.
The Aga Khan Foundation has taken this step following Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov's appeal to Prince Aga Khan IV to assist in improving the capital to celebrate the independence holidays, the head of the Dushanbe administration's press service, Alovuddin Davlatov, told a Khovar news agency.
This pleasant step was taken also as a result of talks between Dushanbe mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev and Prince Aga Khan IV's special envoy, Toj Mid [phonetic]. The money is to be used to improve the capital and resurface roads in Dushanbe.
