jyaare aavee chhe chhel-lee raat ke 
malyaa sarave saarthee re lol.....................................1

When the final night arrived, 
all the companions (the true ones) met!


gure keedhaa chhe khel apaar ke
malyaa sarave rushee re lol.......................................2

The Guide has preformed plays and wonders in a 
limitless manner and all the devotees have met!


raay raiyat malyaa apaar ke, gurjee ne paaye paddyaare lol........3

The kings and their subjects have met in countless numbers 
and have fallen at the feet of the Guide!


evee gur shamsjee ne paas ke, sahu veenatee karere lol............4

In this manner, in the presence of the Guide Shams, 
all of them perform their supplications!


gur aapo amane tamaaro dharam ke, sarave em kahere lol............5

O guide give us your religion. This was said by all of them!


to chhutte sarave amaaraa karam ke 
satee satmaa(n)he rahejo re lol...................................6

Thereby all our karmic bondages may be released. 
The truthful remain steadfast in truth!


taare braahmann sarave mukee puraann ke 
gurjee ne paaye paddyaare lol.....................................7

At that moment all the Bhrahmins (religious scholars) left their study 
of the past scriptures and fell at the feet of the Guide!


kahe gur bataavo tamaaraa dharam ke, em sarave karagare re lol....8

They say, o Guide show us your religion, in this manner all of them implore!


ame mukyo sarave tthaatth ke, tam satgur thakeere lol.............9

We have given up all the pomp and lustre, 
for the sake of you the True Guide!


have trann vedthee nahee rahyu(n) kaam ke 
karo tame saartheere lol.........................................10

Now there is nothing worthwhile in the three vedas (scriptures). 
Become the companions (of me)!


tame gurjee saachaa musalmaan ke, bataavo deen ne re lol.........11

You the Guide are indeed a true Muslim, show us the Religion!


ame hee(n)du mukee jutthaa dev ke, aaraadheeye deen nere lol.....12

We Hindus have abondoned false spirits, and are now adoring the Religion!


ame karasann aachhaa vaaveeye saar ke, to fall paameeye re lol...13

We will plant perfect deeds in essence, thereby we may attain the fruits!


tame aapo amane tamaaro dharam, to rudaamaa(n)he raakheeyere lol.14

You give us your religion, and we will keep it in our hearts!


ame kuddaa(n) saastra kaaddhyaa aay ke, bataavo kur'aan nere lol.15

We have removed the false scriptures (from our minds), 
therefore show us the Qur'aan!


tame aalo amane aachho dharam ke, dekhaaddee heesaabne re lol....16

Give us the pure and perfect religion, which reveals the account!


gure keerpaa keedhee aapnnee saar ke, brahmann neemeeyaare lol...17

The Guide manifested his mercy in a complete manner, 
and selected the bhramins (as his disciples)!


tyaare aveechall vaannee shams peer 
gure mukhthee katheeyaare lol....................................18

Thereafter Peer Shams expounded these eternal and 
timeless verses from his mouth!
