asal amaaraa saamee tame, judaa paddiyaa thai rup
maher karo moraa saa(n)hiyaa, aballaa sharann tamaaree.......1

In the beginning of the beginning, there was He that cannot be
seen or described(or in the beginning if creation infinite, Adam
was with the unseen). He was without qualities and without form.
Lord You are my origin, I have been separated from You by form.
Lord this worthless creature is at Your mercy, My Lord be kind to me,
I am at Your mercy.

ejee ana(n)t jug amane vahee gayaa, rup dhara(n)taa aaviyaa

Countless ages have gone by (since creation) and I have been
changing form (or have taken many forms). It has been ages since
I have been petitioning: O Lord unite us again.

Lord in the state of nothingness (void), You were active
(gave rise to innumerable wonders). In the undescribable
or unseen form you played (the drama of life), You ancient sage,
why make me lament? Lord how long will I stay like this (ununited)?

In "solthal" (cosmological state in 16 layers of light),
Lord You played and played (wonders). (Of that) how
can I adequately praise You? From that day (time),

who have recognised You(in the formless state) completely,
have indeed been saved by You.
