Says our Lord, everyone can pray by his tongue,
But none can attain His didar
If didar could simply be attained by lip devotion
There would then be no sacrifice ...1
Says our Lord, though stork and swan are different birds
Yet they resemble each other
A stork picks up anything
While the swan picks nothing but pearls ...2
Says our Lord, they are relieved of heedlessness
Whose hearts are filled with faith (Iman)
Where there is light of God
The darkness of ignorance vanishes ...3
Says our Lord, we have come in this world
And have brought the secret of salvation
Very few lovers comprehend this
Most indulge in worldly pomp and pleasures ...4
