1959, October 24: Mowlana Shah Karim was given the title of His Royal Highness by Shahenshah of Iran when he first made his visit to Iran.

1960, October 24: Mawlana Shah Karim, the first Imam to visit Hunza in 1400 years of history where he held a grand darbar at the Polo Ground of Baltit in Hunza at the time of Mir Jamal Khan.

1968, October 24: Ghulam Ali Shah died on Thursday, October 3, 1968 in Karachi at the age of 58 years. Mowlana Shah Karim sent following message to the Ismailia Association for Pakistan: October 24, 1968 - "I have received your letter of 8th October, and was much grieved to hear of the sad demise of al-waez Alijah Ghulam Ali Shah. I send my most affectionate paternal maternal loving blessings for the soul of late Alijah Ghulam Ali Shah and pray that his soul may rest in eternal peace. Late Alijah Ghulam Ali Shah's devoted services to my jamats in various countries will always be remembered by my jamats and myself and he will be missed by us all." [More]

1979, October 24-31: Mowlana Shah Karim and Begum Salimah visited Bangladesh. Several Cabinet Ministers called on Mowlana Hazar Imam during the stay.

1980, October 24: Mowlana Shah Karim visited the Jamat gathered in Lahore. In the afternoon, Hazar Imam and Princess Salimah attended a civic reception hosted by the Mayor and citizens of Lahore at the Bagh-e-Jinnah. The Mayor, Mian Shuja-ur-Rahman, presented Prince Karim Aga Khan with the Honorary Citizenship of Lahore as well as the Key of Lahore. 1980, October 24: Prince Amyn Aga Khan, in his capacity as Chief Scout of world Ismailis, attended a Grand Rally organised by the members of His Royal Highness the Aga Khan Association for Ismaili Scouts, Guides, Bands and Orchestras at the Sultan Mohammed Shah Aga Khan School Grounds, Karachi. "I am proud that you have decided to celebrate Chief Scout Day on my birthday " said Prince Amyn.

1986, October 24: Opening of Leather Industries of Kenya Ltd at Thika by President Daniel Arap Moi: Hazar Imam, speaking at the official opening ceremony, thanked the Government for supporting the establishment of the leather factory and described the leather project as a striking example of what business and government could achieve when working together. Hazar Imam opened the new Aga Khan Sports Club and said that He had followed the development of the new club complex with great happiness. He wished the members of the club success in their sporting activities. [photo]

1997, October 24: Mowlana Shah Karim presented the Hadrian Award to Dr Phyllis Lambert at a ceremony held at the Plaza Hotel in New York. [Speech]

2003, October 24: The Aga Khan Foundation plans to open an Ismaili Centre in Dubai as part of its efforts to improve the understanding of Islam's cultural heritage worldwide. The centre will also be used to promote cultural activities, childhood learning and to provide services to the Ismaili community in the Gulf. [Gulf News]
