Aga Khan arrives in Kyrgyzstan for development cooperation talks

[Presenter] The leader of All Ismailis, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, arrived in Bishkek [the Kyrgyz capital] this evening.

This is his third visit [to Kyrgyzstan].

Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Aga Khan Foundation can be described as very fruitful. [Passage omitted: A quadrilateral agreement between Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and the Imamate of Ismailis was signed in August 2000 on setting up a University of Central Asia in the Tajik Mountainous Badakhshon Region]

Tomorrow, Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev will meet Prince Aga Khan and the state of and prospects for cooperation will be discussed.

An agreement on cooperation in the field of development between Kyrgyzstan and the Imamate of Ismailis is expected to be signed.
