Doom Ginans - Ajab Ajaeb

Post by kmaherali »

You have raised a very pertinent issue. I am also concerned about these kinds of Ginans being recited in Jamatkhanas. First of all we must realize that Allah is kind and merciful and his mercy is greater than his wrath. This is best illustrated by the following situation that I related in another forum.

In a mystical vision induced through a waking dream by an esoteric practice of a Sufi Tariqah under Late Master Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak of Istanbul, Lex Hixon (the author of the "Heart of the Quran") found himself in paradise with Prophet Muhammad. He discusses paradise, hell and the hereafter with Prophet Muhammad. He tells the Prophet "But we read in the Holy Koran that those who deny Allah will suffer in Hell eternally." To which the Prophet replies: "But you read again and again in the Holy Koran that Allah is all-compassionate and all-merciful. How could an all-compassionate Power create a realm expressly designed for beings to suffer even for an instant, much less for eternity?" The Prophet further goes on to say: "My dear friend, it is true that when a soul who has not practiced the life of loving submission to Allah reaches Paradise, it cannot bear the intense radiance here, so falls asleep again and dreams of Hell. Hellfire is simply the purifying radiance of Paradise. And all dreams, even dreams of eternal damnation, are but momentary. These dreaming souls soon awaken into Paradise, fully purified and joyously praising the All-Merciful One."

I have heard that MHI does not want these kinds of depressing Ginans which convey the sense of doom, hell and the end of the world scenarios to be recited in JKs. He wants those Ginans which uplift the mind and soul through allusions to enlightenment, joy and wisdom.

In my opinion, the Peers perhaps composed these Ginans to awaken and scare murids who have completely been immersed in materialism. As ISMS has stated in his memoirs, creation is perpetual and therefore there cannot be an end. All allusions to the end of the world have to be understood in an allegorical sense and not literally.

There are 2 ginans with that verse [One by Pir Shams and the other by Pir Sadarsin I think] , I find those superbe.

I have lived long enough to see all these prophecies come true around me and what looked like remotely possible only in the far future when those ginans were composed have become contemporary issues.

I am referring to things like:

"The entire world will be destroyed,
No one will remain upon it." (verse 27)

Also Kaljug according to one theory is over and we are well into Dua Pur Jug.

YAM,

One could interprete it from the premise of the universe being the projection of thought. It is entirely subjective. Every individual has his/her
own exprience which cannot be shared by others. Though they could be exposed to the same external circumstance, one could experience hell while the other could experience heaven. It is all a matter of perception.

In this particular case, the worst possible external circumstance is presented, which would force a momin to detach himself completely from the external circumstance and focus entirely on his inner resources. For this momin the world has come to an end and all his relationships have been severed and hence no one remains for him. He relies completely on his companinship with the Imam and no one else.

Hence in verse 29 we have:
"As near as the span of a hand
is the kingdom of our saheb"

Post by Aly_shallwani »

I was just trying to say that Pirs have always spoken truth and i was just sharing my experience of listening this ginan that all the things in this ginan are changing in reality when you'll read this ginan you'll be able to know the mentioned predictions which are really Horrifying and are going to happen ,some had already happened like a 9 year old girl will marry 12 year old boy, saas will present a glass of water to her bahu on her orders, water will end from 999 rivers and will be sold by measuring it ,flour will be given in puris little packets etc...

No, I got the translation from Songs of Wisdom and Circles of Dance by Tazim R. Kassam. These are Translations of Maha Ismaili Santa Pir Shams Rachit Ginanono Sangraha(An Anthology of Ginans composed by the Great Ismaili Saint, Pir Shams)

KMaherAli thanks for reference But this Ginan is of Pir Sadardin not of Pir Shams...As I read it from Ginan book it is of Pir Sadardin as its last verse says
Eji Ginan Maharas Pir bhanave Sadardin
A Sarvey Sacho kari Janoo jeeray

Are you writing about this Ginan ? "Eji Ajab Ajaib dekho moman bhai kaljug aaya khotaa jeeray...." or Some one else??

From Ginan book which I have read, there are 13 verses of this Ginans and predictions like bahu will give water to saas, water will become less etc which Aly Shallwani wrote

The Ginan that I am referring to is "Ajab Jamana suno moman bhaiji kalajuga aya khota jire" by Pir Shamsh and it has 30 verses.

It looks like Pir Sadardin also wrote a Ginan on the same theme. There are similar predictions etc.

Ajab Ajaaib Transcription and Translation.

Post by kmaherali »

The following is a rough translation of the Ginan. Compared to the version of Pir Shams it is pale in regard to its horrifying effect. Pir Shams' version mentions the end of the world and other doom scenarios.

eji ajab ajaayab dekho moman bhaaee, kaljug aayaa khotaa jeere.............1

Witness the strange and wonderful o brother devotees, the false period of kajug has arrived.

eji peer saathe mureed laddegaa, baap ku(n) maarengaa bettaa jeere........2

Disciples will fight against their masters, and sons will beat up their fathers.

eji maa(n)he maa(n)he doy ba(n)dhav laddege, avar jaanne do godhaa jeere....3

There in two brothers will fight each other, others will consider them as two bulls.

eji maaee bettee doy laddashe, ek beejaane kaheshe sokaa jeere...........4

Mother and daughter will fight each other, each one will accuse the other of being a co-wife.

eji saasu uttheene paannee bharashe, vavar besee khaannu(n) khaave jeere......5

The mother-in-law will rise and get water, while the daughter-in-law will eat food while sitting.

eji nav varasanee naaree faleshe, ne baar varasno purush jeere..........6

Girls will mature at the age of nine and the husband will be twelve years old.

eji do varannaa(n) kaljugmaa(n) megh ma(n)ddaayshe, gaayaa be vaachhaddaa jannashe jeere....7

It will rain in two seasons during the kaljug and a cow will bear two calves.

eji pahelee fojaku(n) paannee meeleshe, dujee fojaku(n) gaaraa jeere.....8

The first army will encounter water, the second army will encounter mud.

eji treejee foje kheha uddashe, chothee foje sheetal chhaayaa jeere....9

The third army will enconter flying dust, the forth army will encounter cool and shade.

eji paa(n)chmee foje alee purakh chaddashe, leshe te khanna(n)g treedhaaro jeere......10

The perfect Ali will rise along with the fifth army, and he will carry the triple edged sword.

eji navso navannu(n) nadeeyu(n) neer ghattashe, traajave tolaayshe paannee jeere...11

The water of 999 rivers will be gathered, the water will be weighed on a scale.

eji ganneeyaa daannaa tyaare ananaa(n) vechaayshe, ane puddeeye ba(n)dhaayshe aattaa jeere....12

A few grains of food will be sold and floor will be packed in paper wrap.

eji geenaan mahaaras peer bhannaave sadardeen, e sarave saachu(n) karee jaanno jeere........13

This hymn of great delight is taught by Pir Sadardeen, consider all this as true.

As far as the 5 armies

Imam SMS Farman states .

There are 5 things, shariat, tariqat, haqiqat, marifat and the fifth one is God..

Many of the predictions in Ginan has already come true. The evils of Kaljug as mention in this Ginan and many others could be seen and observed like mother and daughter fighting with each other, no respect for elders. In olden times and even in old hindi movies it is shown that motherinlaw being cruel but now the situation is totally opposite. Bahus give order to their saas and even beat etc infront of sons...this can be obsevered many of us.Girls being mature at age of nine and water will be measured. Nowadays also water is sold out like one litre mineral water etc. At that time flour was found in abundance every where, In Ginan it is mention that it will also be sold out in packets..
Mother and children fight with each other and use abusive languages. Syed Imam Shah in Ginan Momin Chetamani also says that Places of worship will turn into places of sin that means people will come Jamat Khana but there too they will do sins and will not understand whats the purpose of Jamat Khana. When a time like that has prevailed then even the earth will seem to shake and everything will be base and sinful

I think we must keep in mind Prince Sadruddin's statement:

"Creation is sacred. Life and nature need not be exploited to instill fear in our hearts. For the Hindus, we have entered the Kali Yuga, the dark age, while St. John's Apocalypse evokes the divine judgement for human sins through his vision of the final destruction of the earth. Though there is cause for apocalyptic rhetoric in the chemical and radioactive pollution of soil and water and the depletion of the ozone layer, the problem with cyclical or terminal Apocalypses is that they deeply imprint the mind with negative and destructive behaviour patterns. One is escapism: "God will judge, but we are the faithful who will escape. And really this isn't our home, anyway, since heaven is our kingdom". There is an "us/them" dilemma here, with a judgement on the others. What we need to do is formulate a language that draws people back into community and responsibility. Apocalyptic visions point the other way."
