Sometimes you feel that you are alone but you are not alone. And I don’t want you to feel that you are ever alone .To be happy with you whether I am possibly present or not. That makes no different. I am always with you wherever you are I am with you.

The iranaian jamat and I also would like to travel to Dubai eagerly. But How? With prejudice and restriction of the .... ... iran? Or by heart?

Ya Ali Madad, Can someone please provide confirmed date and time for the Darbar for International Jamat travelling to Dubai? Thank You and Ya Ali Madad.
Hello everyone:<BR>My family and I are getting ready to take part in this ceremony as U.we are iranian and we heard there would be accomodation for us ( i mean cheaper) there,have u heard about this issue?cause we are not sure wheather to book a hotel room or not?( ofcourse it was my concern not the others)
Mubaraki--Mowlana Hazar Imam arrived in Dubai this evening at about 6.00 PM with Princess Zahra and Prince Rahim.
It was announced that both Princess Zahra and Prince Rahim will also attend the Deedar. Shukhar. The Deedar time is 4.00 PM and the doors will open at 8.00 AM.
Murids from all around Europe and other parts of the world are still pouring in in large numbers, however, the actual number will only be determined tomorrow after the registration closes .
Food and the services are very good but they can use few more volunteers. The entertainment program is excellent--Abida Parween performed tonight.
We will be able to watch live telecast of the opening of the new Dubai Center

deedar mubarak to all of you. we were blessed with the noorani deedar earlier this evening here in dubai. mowla was very happy, albeit a bit tired. you could tell that he was favoring his right arm and was struggling every time he had to use it. he came to the deedar hall at about 415 and walked for about 10 mins. he was followed by the mukhi/kamadia and then prince rahim and princess zahra then the mukhini/kamadianima.
quranic ayat, translation and ginan (ashaji - anant akhado) were recited then mowla stood for firman. he began by expressing his joy at having his children with him and wants to have them for more of his jubilees along with prince hussin and princess khaliya. he acknowledged the murids from over 50 countries and the work of the volunteers to put all the padramni together in such a short time.
in jist his firman was about making sure that the children are educated and strong in the global language which is english. but to also learn the national language along with reading and writing as well. he wants the jamat to be prudent in their ways as he believes that the economy will take a turn in the near future. he said that it is not just the imam saying this but that it is what is expectd.
he also stressed that although work can get in the way of spiritual life it would be an error if we did not practice our faith. if we are tied up we should take a tasbih and call the name of ali, the prophet or the imams.
he then sat back down and did all the GCC memanis and abesafa and accepted nazraana and gifts for the prince and princess.
the UAE president then made a speech to mowlas expressing the gulf and international jamats plege and affirmation of the faith and acknowledging mowlas work and help for the murids.
mowla then stood and thanked the murids for "spoiling him and his family" and gave blessing for all members of the jamat and their families whereever they may be. he then turned his head and acknowledged the prince and princess and then stepped off the stage. his return to the lounge was very short. which was surprising as there was so much jamat on the opposite side as well. it must be because he was feeling tired or that his shoulder was hurting. once in the lounge he gave a private audience to the mukhi and kamadia in the lounge and expressed that he wanted his jamat to celebrate with dandia raas and food and was very happy with his visit.
you were all in my thoughts and prayers. may the blessings of mowlas deedar fulfill you one and all.
20,000 people with 4000 being from UAE...Most from India/Pakistan.
2000 people were apparently left outside, with no audio/visual set ups.
Sever shortage of volunteers- only 300.
1 hour min. wait for washrooms.
Imam, Prince Rahim and Prince Zahra stayed for an hour 4:30-5:30.
Farman was short with importance on balance between din/duniya.
Also importance on Jamat being fluent in English as well as the country's first language.
Imam also stated that the economy will stay "soft" for another 6-12 months and that the jamat should always prepare for the worst case scenario.

To day was one of the most auspicious day
The Darbar was scheduled for 4pm
The location was airport expo near dubai airport.
we reached at 930 am
the gates opened at 10 am.
security V. STRICT, it took v. long to get through.they were making us remove even watch.
initialy we did not have a great placement but at 3 pm we moved to another place which was great.there was a huge tv screen for intenal video.
Hazar Imam arrived approximately at 4.15 pm
He arrived in a silver BMW v. long car .
Prince Rahim and Princess Zahra arrived in a separate car
Hazar Imam arrived in the hall at 4.30 pm
He was followed by mukhi, kamadia followed by Prince Rahim and Princess Zahra followed by Mukhiani kamadiani.
There were about 15 to 20 thousand murids
Hazar IMAM'S right shoulder seemed to be hurting.
but he was full of smiles all the time.he looked a .little pale and tired.
He looked very happy to see the big congregation.
After he went around to give deedar to all the murids he sat down on the takhat. he seemed little tired of walking that much.
The stage was very simple. just Hazar imam's gold rimmed off white chair in the middle.
on his left hand were placed 2 more chairs off white with gold rims.next to Hazar imam on the left side Prince Rahim was sitted
and next to him princess Zahra was seated. on Hazar Imam's right side was mukhi and kamadia and on the left of princess Zahra sat mukhiani kamadianis.
Princess Zahra wore off white saree with gold zari border she was wearing the golden jubilee gown over it.
Prince Rahim wore white sherwani suit and golden jubilee gown and the topi similar to Hazar Imam he was very serious and attentive.
Hazar Imam wore his golden Jubilee attire.
He looked happy.
The gold chain was garlanded by mukhi saheb
after the kuranic ayat , there was ginan recitation

It was so great! whole jamat was able join in the singing and it gave a heavenly atmosphere.

President saheb reaafirmed the bayat and loyalty on behalf of the jamat.

He said he hopes the jamat will take the advantage of the children centre in dubai Ismaili centre
science has proved the benefit of early learning.which is very effective starting from infancy
He was happy that his family was joining him in the darbar.
He said his childen were helping him in his work and also were taking good care of him and
they would tell him things which no one else dares to .Prince Hussein and his wife will also join him in GJ darbars in future.
He said education was very important and access to english lnguage was very important and besides that one must be fluent in national language.
here in dubai it is very important to learn arabic language.
these were the requirements for sucess.
he said the economy is soft worldwide and will continue like that for 6mts to a year.
there will be fluctuations in currencies and economies of the world
we have to be thoughtful,careful and prudent in living.
there are 2 aspects of life material and v.important spiritual life.
Do not go day after day after day without thinking of your faith.
pray regularly go to jamat khana,very very big mistake not to go to jamatkhana
if you do not have chance to go to jamatkhana ,take your tasbih
call the names of Allah, Mohammad ,hazrat Ali or names of the IMAM.
He concluded the firman with blessings for health and muskilassan and unity in the family.
he thanked for the gifts to his family and nazrana
may you get returns thousand times again he said thousand times
the stay was really short.
he went to the lounge to changed and after 10 minutes left. the premises
sukhrana tasbih was recited
mukhisaheb returned and he said Hazar Imam asked him what were the plans for the evening and before he could reply IMAM said I hope there is dandiya ras. I want the jamat to rejoice.
he said he was very happy with the visit.
jamat was waiting since 9am to 630 pm everyone was anxious to get out.
we came out to eat dinner which was biriyani and sweet dish.
there was dandiya raas after that.
they said they were short of volunteers.
excessive number of volunteers were utilised for shoes management
we went home by 11pm..
It was a great DARBAR!

Since last two days we are enjoying hospitality of Dubai Jamat.From
Navroz Day i.e.21st March there is 3 days festivity at Airport Expo Venue.The hall is a large one.Expectancy of Murids may exceed 15000.On Navroz day the Sufro went for 2.1 million Dhr.close to US$600000.
After Jamati ceremany dinner was served.The Menu was Lamb Korma, Chicken chinese style with Korma touch,Lamb Biryani,Kabab,Daal,Russian Salad,Roman Lettuce-chicken Salad,soft drinks of various brand,bottled water. For desert we had Laddu,Gulab Jamun and Carrot cake.Very delicious food. The arrangement was fantastic.
After Jaman we had Dandiya,Tabqa and the Khusyali atmosphere was unbelievable.
Yesterday we had after JK ceremony nice dinner.The Menu was Khomus (made out of Cheekpeas-mid eastern delicacy)Naan,Lamb Korma,Chicken Korma,white rice,speghetti with meat sauce all deliciously prepared food and for Desert guess what?Choclate cake,Umali(delicious sweet made of milk,kismis and pista-badam)Pista Kulfi,Chai,apple pieces cut and made like fruit chat,Tremendous atmosphere with people from Syria wearing Arab gowns. Afterdinner there were bollywood type dance items,syrian folk dance good music,good arrangement and there was dandiya after that.Tonight will be the last day of 3 big festive evenings.Dua time everyday till tonight was 6-30.
Monday seems like rest day for preparation i.e.decoration of hall Tuesday is late afternoon Deedar,Wed isopening ceremony of JK. for invited guests.ForInternational Jamat with entrance passes they are also given
date and time for JK visitation passes and a bottle of Aabe-Safa per family.
InsahAllah with your kind prayers we will have nice Deedar.The Expo-hall is close to Airport and big one.The arrangement and Volunteer Seva is great.Wish you guys would have been here.

Actually I did not attend. I merely posted whatever has come to me...
I would also like to know what verses were recited, perhaps the Admin who was there can let us know.
Admin, thank you so much for letting us know the 'ashaji verses' and if you can remember the first one, please let us know.
I went and checked those verses and do realise why they were chosen. The words are so powerful and emotional, no wonder the jamat in dubai had tears in their eyes.
Well, Mubaraki to you all on the Golden Jubilee Darbar held in Dubai.
MHI came at around 4-30 in the Darbar Hall and moved along almost all the isles (except a few) along with the Mukhi, Kamadia sahiban of Dubai JK, Prince Rahim & Princess Zahra, Mukhiani & Kamadiani Sahiban of Dubai JK.
Then MHI came to the stage set for him which had three chairs. One for himself & other two for the Noorani children.
MHI listened to the Qirat, translation & the ginan and gave blessings to the spiritual children. MHI was not able to use His right hand for the Khanavadan blessings & usually used the left hand which (may) indicate that He has not fully recovered from the injury. We all must pray for Him!
The National Council President presented the word of pledge on behalf of the Gulf Jamat.
MHI came to the microphone and started to give Hidayat to the jamat.
Very concisely, he made the following instructions:
1. Mubaraki to all the members of the jamat and their jamats worldwide;
2. Education & English are the global passports with which you can move anywhere.
3. Local language is also important whereever His jamat lives and for the people in the Gulf, he emphasised that the jamat will make efforts to learn Arabic language.
4. Be prudent in what ever you spend & invest as the time is really volatile these days. He emphasised that He is not saying that the jamat should expect the worst, but then the jamat should behave prudently.
5. Religious Education for the kids is very important as this is the age when they get the right understanding of the faith.
6. There shall be tasbih with you. Recite names of Allah, Muhammad, Ali & Imams.
7. Do not miss the timings of the dua. If you are in a difficult position, take out the tasbih & do point number 6.
8. Gave congratulations to the jamat on the nazrana and prayed that the same goes back to the jamat 1000 times in their lives. He repeated the words 1000 times twice.
9. He said that he will wish that as Zahra & Rahim were with him, similarly Hussain & Khalia be with him in the coming darbars. He said that the kids are really helping Him a lot.
10. Second time when he went to the microphone, it was not working for a moment and the Imam in a joyous mood said that that was what we all call technological flaw!
11. Gave lots & lots of prayers to all the jamat.
After the farman, MHI moved to some of the isles that He did not go before coming to the stage & then left the darbar hall.
After wards, when He left the venue, the Mukhi sahib came to the jamat to tell that MHI was very happy with the jamat & He has asked him about the plans for the day. When Mukhi sahib tried to say, He said, Raas, Dandia, etc.
That was one small narrative of the Imam's visit.
Thanks to MHI for His blessings on the jamat and on commencing the GJ darbars again.

As-Salaam-o-Alaikum

Photo: Gary OtteI am deeply pleased that all of you have been able to join us for the inauguration of this elegant new Ismaili Centre. Your presence is itself a symbol of the wonderful diversity that characterizes Dubai. Your interest and support gives added meaning to our celebration — as we honour today a great architectural accomplishment, the exciting institutional activities for which it will provide a home, and the remarkable people who have made all of this possible.
Those extraordinary people include, of course, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, who has so generously given the land for this Centre. Let me express once again, on behalf of the Ismaili community, our profound appreciation to His Highness and his family.
I am particularly pleased that you, Your Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum have again honoured us with your presence today. You were so gracious as to witness the ceremony at which the foundation stone of this Centre was laid a little over four years ago.
And let me also acknowledge, with deepest gratitude, the many other donors to this project, in Dubai and in so many other places, as well as those who designed and constructed and decorated this building and its adjacent park. Your dedication and generosity have been at the very heart of the long planning and building process which culminates so happily at this moment.
We gather today at a special place — and at a special time.
We welcome our new Ismaili Centre in a setting which has itself become a great centre — a hub of cosmopolitan activity, a truly global crossroads. We hear a great deal these days about the words “convergence” and “connectivity.” In my judgment, Dubai is a place where those words truly come to life. Dubai has become the very embodiment of the global village, placing itself at the forefront of an enormous surge toward global convergence.
The Dubai ethic is one that honours a generous exchange of knowledge and ideas, that welcomes the opportunity to learn from others, that celebrates not only our historic identities but also our open horizons.
This ethic of exploration and interconnectedness is one that is deeply shared by the Ismaili community. It is an ethic, in fact, that is firmly rooted in our faith — a value system which grows from deeply spiritual roots.
It understands that human diversity is itself a gift of Allah — that pluralism is not a threat but a blessing. It sees the desire to explore and connect as a way to learn and grow – not to dilute our identities but to enrich our self-knowledge. This ethic emanates ultimately from a relationship to the Divine which inspires a deep sense of personal humility — and a relationship to humankind which is infused with a spirit of generous service and mutual respect.
This new Centre is itself a profoundly spiritual place. Its defining symbolism is inspired by the Fatimid tradition — stretching back over 1000 years and widely shared with sister traditions throughout the Islamic world — from Baghdad to Bokhara. As its architects have so effectively realized, this building exists fundamentally as a place for peaceful contemplation, but one that is set in a social context. It is not a place to hide from the world, but rather a place which inspires us to engage our worldly work as a direct extension of our faith.
Sheikh Mohammad has provided a powerful example of how the ethics of our Islamic faith can be taken into the world, through his affirmation of a pillar of Islamic values, the spirit of generosity toward others. As he wrote recently, and I quote him, “I always ask: How can I help? What can I do for people? How can I improve people’s lives? That’s part of my value system. The Dubai narrative is all about changing people’s lives for the better…”
In that spirit, His Highness, in describing Dubai has replaced the word “Capitalist” with the word “Catalyst” — in that it inspires those who live and work here to greater levels of personal accomplishment. His philosophy, to paraphrase John Kennedy, calls us to ask “not what one can achieve for oneself, but what one can help others achieve.” And this, too, is an expression which grows out of deeply rooted Islamic principles.
In our Development Network we have used a slightly different vocabulary to describe a very similar commitment. We like to talk about building what we call an “enabling environment,” one that can provide what we have called “the spark” which can “ignite” a spirit of individual determination.
Our Development Network pursues that objective in many places in many ways — one apt example is the early childhood education programme here at the Ismaili Centre — a long-term investment in moulding human character at the most formative time of its life.
Of course, we must be realistic about the challenges we face. This is a region, after all, which Sheikh Mohammad has described as a “tough neighbourhood” — the locus in recent years of tragic clashes and cleavages, including many divisions within Islam itself. And yet at the same time, this is a region of powerful potential and promise. That promise will be increasingly fulfilled as the Islamic world learns to embrace ever more effectively the spirit of fundamental cohesion expressed so well in the Amman Declaration of 2005, along with its affirmation that the variety of expressions within Islam is not a curse but “a mercy.” That spirit of comity, in turn, can become a great Islamic contribution to the future of this region — and to the future of our world.
Just as Dubai is indeed a very special place, this is also a very special time. For me this is particularly true because this new beginning coincides with my 50th year as Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims — a Golden Jubilee moment which connects the past to the future for me and in a special way.
And that is what this celebration today is all about — at a time of demanding challenge, we look for strength and inspiration from our spiritual and cultural roots.
My thanks again to all of you for sharing in this special moment.
