Pir I know means saint, but does Pira, or Peera have any connection with the word saint? Is it a Gujerati word with a particular meaning?
I am also interested in finding a translation for the work Madolji. In one of the texts, Peera Dewjee is referred to as Madolji Peera Dewjee and I wondered whether it was a title - perhaps 'councillor'?

As far as I am aware there is no difference between Pir and Piraa it is just a different way of saying in different language. In Marathi (Maharashtrian) language both these word can be used depend on how it has been used in a sentence. Below is one example from another ginan it is a debate/conversation between Pir Hassan Kabirdin and Kanifa jogi the jogi addresses Pir as Piraa.

The difference is nothing between pir and peera.
Same way "veer" means brother and "veera" means also brother. As per my understanding adding word 'a' is a tradition to give respect to particular person..
