Can NCAB/ICAB/DJI please clarify the above, with Farmans, and let us have all the constitutional rules since 1986 to date. (Hazar Imam has said these must be given freely to all Ismailis & read with Farmans (constitution) - http://ismaili.net/timeline/2018/101-proofs-chatur.pdf
What is also surprising is that the dates of Canadian rules coincided with filing of the lawsuit against Nagib and Alnaz in 2010 - (Read what Hazar Imam said in 2010) http://ismaili.net/source/legal-documen ... hatur8.pdf

About ICAB & NCABS
The Conciliation and Arbitration Board System
In 1986, His Highness the Aga Khan established a global institutional framework of Conciliation and Arbitration Boards (CABs) to provide dispute resolution services for Ismailis at the regional, national and international level. Currently, the CAB system consists of 19 National Conciliation and Arbitration Boards (NCABs) that operate in the following jurisdictions: Afghanistan, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, Democratic Republic of Congo, France, India, Iran, Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique, Pakistan, Portugal, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
The International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB) handles complex international (i.e. cross border) cases and appeals and also coordinates the global CAB system by developing policies and programmes and identifying and sharing best practices across the CAB system. ICAB is also responsible for coordinating and delivering training to the 700+ volunteer CAB mediators around the world.
The Vision, Mission and Values of the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards
Vision
To be the first choice in dispute resolution for Ismaili Muslims through the provision of best in class alternative dispute resolution services and the promotion of dispute prevention.
Mission
As mandated by the Ismaili Constitution, the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards:
Provide leading edge dispute resolution services for the global Ismaili Muslim community through highly trained and committed volunteers, and
Promote dispute prevention through sister institutions.
Values
Maintain Confidentiality
Act with Fairness and Neutrality
Provide Excellent Service
Demonstrate Compassion and Commitment
Be Culturally Sensitive
Comply with Applicable Laws and the Ethics of our Faith
The Mandate of the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards
The mandate of the CAB is to assist parties with differences or disputes arising from commercial, matrimonial, testate and intestate succession, and other civil liability matters in an equitable, efficient, confidential, cost-effective, amicable and constructive manner. In doing so, CABs' services are underpinned by Islamic principles of unity, brotherhood, justice, tolerance, peace and goodwill.
A unique feature of the CAB system is that it provides a holistic approach to dispute resolution services with an emphasis on maintaining harmony between and the well-being of the parties, such as helping the parties move past any emotional wounds caused by the dispute. CABs also work with other Ismaili institutions to promote dispute prevention, conflict management, and to address systemic issues and trends of disputes. Such areas of coordination include services relating to economic planning, health and social welfare, education, legal assistance.
CAB strives to offer best-in-class services. Throughout the duration of their 3-year term, CAB members receive extensive training by leading mediation professionals and trainers, including members of ICAB's Certified Training faculty and the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, based in London, United Kingdom. Several NCABs have been recognised by judicial systems and alternative dispute resolution organisations as being a leader in alternative dispute resolution services.
Members of the Conciliation and Arbitration Boards
All members of the Conciliation and Arbitration Board are appointed by His Highness the Aga Khan for a three-year term, and serve on a voluntary basis. Reflecting gender balance, diversity, and the plurality of the Ismaili community, CAB members typically include professionals (such as lawyers, doctors and accountants), social workers, business persons and senior community leaders. “The International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB) recently completed its third instalment of the train-the-trainer programme, resulting in the addition of 17 Ismaili volunteers across eight countries to serve as certified trainers in conciliation and arbitration.
ICAB’s global faculty now consists of 55 certified trainers from diverse backgrounds and professions, including professional mediators, conflict management trainers and coaches, lawyers, academics, former judges, as well as health, IT, and business professionals.

“To ensure conciliation and arbitration boards provide best practice mediation services to the Jamat
Mawlana Hazar Imam has called on ICAB to ensure that all members were trained and qualified to provide competent services to the Jamat.
ICAB, with the approval of Mawlana Hazar Imam, selected as its training partner the London-based Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), an international organisation known for conducting training in mediation at public and private institutions in many countries where Jamati and AKDN institutions are active.
The first two train-the-trainer programmes were held in 2013 and 2014, and over 50 mediation skills training sessions have since been delivered in 11 different languages to over 2,000 members from around the world. The training is conducted within six months of CAB appointments through a rigorous five-day mediation and conciliation training programme, designed to provide members with a thorough understanding of mediation processes, principles, and skills through classroom instruction and role-plays.
The course stresses best practices in facilitating the resolution of disputes to ensure a fair and neutral process as well as creating a culture for resolving disputes in a peaceful and ethical manner.
ICAB, with the support of its certified trainers, provides members continuing professional development courses, which include case studies that reflect the type and nature of cases that conciliation and arbitration boards deal with globally.
The recruitment efforts for the third train-the-trainer programme included announcements in Jamatkhanas around the world and in their respective digital publications and platforms during the month of March 2023.
ICAB received over 260 applications globally. The top 40 applicants whose resumes aligned more closely with the terms of reference were invited to a rigorous interview process, which included a presentation to an interview panel. After completion of the recruitment process, the interview panels provided their recommendation to ICAB, who made their final selections in May 2023.
In his guidance to ICAB in 2014, Mawlana Hazar Imam was hopeful that the work done by the ICAB through its global training programmes of CAB members, would encourage murids who are in potentially conflictual situations to seek more and more the assistance of the CAB system, to achieve negotiated solutions, independent from the costs and risks of unfair or incompetent judgments.
With the addition of 17 new certified trainers, CAB members will continue to receive best in class training to help them serve the global Jamat, in their national languages, and under a uniform and internationally-recognised platform. (TheIsmaili August 2023)
