CONCEPT OF NOOR VS CONCEPT OF DEEPAWALI

Post by shivaathervedi »

Concept of Noor vs concept of Deepawali (Divali).

Diwali is called the Festival of Lights and is celebrated to honor Rama, the seventh avatar (incarnation of the god Vishnu). It is believed that on this day Rama returned to his people after 14 years of exile during which he fought and won a battle against the demons and the demon king, Ravana.
The celebration of Diwali with lights to be a reminder of the importance of knowledge, self inquiry, self-improvement, knowing, seeking the good and the right path and spiritual upliftment. It is a metaphor for resisting evil, for dispelling darkness and for compassion to others. Diwali is the celebration of this inner light over spiritual darkness, of knowledge over ignorance and right over wrong.
Quran says:
Allah is the ally (protector) of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve, their patrons are false deities. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. 2-257
Ismailis believe Imam is Noor e Hidayat and guides his followers to right path, spiritual upliftment, intellectual enlighentment, and eternal peace.
Hindus celebtate Deepawali (Diwali) on 15th of holy month of Kartik (which usually falls in between 15 October- 15 Novwmber), where as Ismailis celebrate Imamat day on 11th of July. Message of Noor and Deepawali looks same. Any comment.
