I am reading a Metapsycology book related to "death" and "life after death", but the most interesting question I found in this book is about Human soul, according the author human soul does have weight?
While many psychologist and scholars doesn't agree with this because they think soul does not have any shape and when any one doesn't have any kind shape then how it possible that thing have weight??!!

What is your opinion about this very interesting Question????

Soul is like 'light', and nobody has measured weight of light yet!! Have you? so basically soul and electric city are same because they both doesn't have any shape , so how in the world soul weight is possible when electric city weight is not possible?

'Internet weighs no more than a strawberry'

LONDON: The weight of the Internet is as meagre as 50 grams, which is equivalent to a strawberry, according to Vsause, a science show on YouTube.

The study, which seems to be inspired by a mathematician who recently calculated that eBook readers "gain weight" when adding new books to the library, said that the weight equals that of a strawberry only if counting the data not the electricity required to make it work, the Daily Mail reported.

Thanks for your inputs,
But I am talking about human "soul' not internet weight or vise versa , the soul which is quoted as 'RUH' "روح" in Quran and which is quoted as 'Aatma' 'આત્મા' 'Hans' 'હંસ" and some places as a 'Jeev' 'જીવ' in our Ginanic literature.
I repeat my question again,
Does this Aatma, Hans or Jeev whatever name you recognizes it, has weight? and if your answer is yes then how it possible that when it has not shape, smell and color? it is not a matter so that you can weight it!

Now let me ask you this question; most peoples believe that our soul is separated from the God, God is only light and God doesn't have shape, now if soul does contain weight as per your link then how much God weight?
Logically,iIf souls have weight then god should have weight because souls are part of God's body souls are separated from him.
Can you tell me how much God wight then? what is your reply?

Logically speaking agakhani bhai....Every single atom[big or tiny] have some kind of weight in it....Even holy quran mentions this where allah[swt] says :

(And nothing is hidden from your Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in the heaven. Nor (is there) what is less than that or what is greater than that but is (written) in a Clear Record.) (10:61)

Having said this why isnt possible that even the human soul might consist of weight ??

Allah the Exalted says "They ask you (O Muhammad) concerning the Ruh (spirit of inspiration). Say:" The Ruh (the Spirit) is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little.

and not just this allah[swt] also says :

34:3 The Unbelievers say, "Never to us will come the Hour": Say, "Nay! but most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you; - by Him Who knows the unseen, - from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous

Now to answer you question does allah[swt] have weight....why dont you read quran ??

Allah[swt] has clearly said in simple terms in quran that allah[swt] has created humankind is his very own shape.....now every shape has a figure and every figure consists of weight, height, width etc etc

simple !!!!

Well, Shiraz, you interpreted it as per your thinking ( I don't say you interpreted it wrong) but as per my thinking; Allah has created humankind as per his imagination not as per his shape, because Allah has no shape, not only I saying this that Allah has no shape but many scholars also believe this way, Hindu, Christian and some Muslims also believes that God has no shape. Hindu Purans/Scripture and our ginans are loaded about this belief you can find following words in many ginans.

નિરાકાર : Nirakar: means 'no shape'
નિરંજન : Niranjan: means sinless, pure, Subhan Pak. so basically as per our ginanic literature Allah has no shape.
But this doesn't means that God can not take Human shape he can take any shape if he wants too whenever need arisen in past God had taken birth as human beings too, and in future when need will arise God will take birth (Zahurat) history is loaded about these ten incarnations
Sunnatul Jamats and Shia biradars also not believe that Allah has any shape that is why we won't find any pictures of Allahtala.
Allah is pure light (NOOR) nothing else and he is every where.
BTW:-Thanks for your two links both are very informative.
I will highly appreciate if you kindly provide me name of the above Sura and ayahs # if possible for you.

Mr. Virani,
Just forget about the Ruh or God's shape for now first prove that does God really exsit or not?! According many etheistic peoples ( not me Astgafar ) they don't accept God's existance, they think there is no God and if you think there is a God then prove that there is a God and answer of their following questions:-

1, Where is God?
2, Why we can't see him?
3, Is god is he or she?
4, How he/she look like?
5, Where does he lives?
6, Does any one claimed that he shows the God?
7, Why God not appeared face to face to Prophet Moses( PBUH) upon his request? if he would had really exist that time then he should had come face to face to Prophet!!
8, Why he is not listening our prayer?
9, Why he is not answering our prayer? when Allah's one name is "MUJIB" means "answerer"?
10, Why doesn't he come himslef on earth and kill devil forces? why he send some one else to kill devil forces? Does he scare to the devil forces?

Please answer above questions first and then after we will discuss about Ruh and God's shape.

Quote:
1, Where is God?

"Do you feel secure that He, Who is fis-sama (above the heavens), will not cause the earth to sink…Or do you feel secure that He, Who is fis-sama (above the heavens) will not send against you a violent whirlwind?" [67:16-17]

In order to find where god is...1st we have to understand where heaven is .....There are seven heavens according to the holy quran and If you would ask me I would say earth is the bottommost heaven

God is not someone living in aiglemont, india or tibet ....Gods throne resides above all....which means he is supreme

Certainly your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six yaum (days or periods of time), and then He Istawa (rose above) the Throne. He brings the night as a cover over the day rapidly, and the sun, the moon, the stars subject to His Command. Surely, His is the Creation and the Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the universe!"
[Noble Quran 7:54]

It is Allah who erected the heavens without pillars that you [can] see; then He Istawa (rose above) the Throne and made subject the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. He arranges [each] matter; He details the signs that you may, of the meeting with your Lord, be certain."
[Noble Quran 13:2]

He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six yaum (days or periods of time), and then He Istawa (rose above) the Throne. He knows what goes into the earth and what comes forth from it, what descends from the heaven and what ascends up to it. And He is with you (by His Knowledge) where so ever you may be. And Allah is the All-Seer of what you do. [Noble Quran 57:4]

He can be everything.....He can be anything.....he can be anywhere or he can be everywhere

Remember the story of h.musa[as] where he goes on the mountain to have a converstation with allah[swt]....How did allah[swt] communicated with him ?? He communicated with h.musa[as] via burning tree....anything is possible with allah[swt].

Can you see the wind ? .....Can you see or smell radiation ?? ....Do they exist ? YES !!!.....Similarly god does not necessarily have to come in the getup of yamraj or do all sorts of shor sharaba in order to prove his existance....Just because you cannot measure the speed of light....see the wind that doesnt mean it dont exist !!

He or she is whatever you decide him/her to be....I dunno who wrote this but i heard this from one person saying....if cows and dogs have had human hands and if they could draw...they surely would have described god as in their own shape i.e a cow or a dog icon_biggrin.gif

Quote:
Does any one claimed that he shows the God?

Allah is not the sun or the moon that you raise you head up and you would see him waving at you !!.....He is above all that you could thing, We humans treat him like one of us because we cannot imagine him in other forms.....now you wont imagine him with 15 legs and 15 hands would you ? icon_biggrin.gif

The greatest pleasure for momins is to get the glimpse of allah[swt]....when people like h.musa[as] couldnt manage to get the glimpse of allah[swt] ...what makes you think that you're capable of withstanding the creator who is purest of pure ?

Quote:
Why God not appeared face to face to Prophet Moses( PBUH) upon his request? if he would had really exist that time then he should had come face to face to Prophet!!

In that same story allah[swt] did spoke to him via a tree....How is it possible for the burning tree to talk ?....can trees communicate with humans ??....How could this happen then ??....And you're mistaken my fren...h.musa[as] requested allah[swt] that he wanted to see him in person and allah[swt] ordered him to come on top of the mountain and warned people to stay in their houses as they wont be able to bear the luminosity of allah[swt].....what happened ?? those who followed the command of allah[swt] were saved and those who got curious and wanted to get the glimpse died on the spot !!!!..........On the spot my friend !!

And what happened to h.musa[as] when he could manage to see just a glimpse of allah[swt] ? he fainted !!!.....When a prophet of god couldnt withstand the power of the creator what makes you think you're qualified for that job ?? icon_smile.gif

Quote:
Why he is not listening our prayer?

How do you know he isnt ??....How do you know hez not answering you prayer right now ??....As our imam ali[as] said...every breath that you take....takes you closer to death and the only thing that is stopping you from dying is the creator, so every breath that you take you should be thankful to allah[swt] who gave you this life.

There is a saying "God is where you find him"......and you dont have to look at the photo of the agakhan or peer baba or saadhu santh to look for allah[swt].....you just have to looks at yourself in the mirror and your questions would be answered icon_wink.gif

Quote:
Why he is not answering our prayer? when Allah's one name is "MUJIB" means "answerer"?

Why would you call him only when you're in stress ?...Why dont you call him to thank him for everything he gave you ??....Why dont you ask for forgiveness for you only ask when it is necessary but you never give back .....why dont you take some time off and thank allah[swt] ???

Whatever you ask my friend ask from the bottom of your heart ....and sometimes you might not get what you wanted and this may be for your own good ....but allah[swt] knows best

Quote:
Why doesn't he come himslef on earth and kill devil forces? why he send some one else to kill devil forces? Does he scare to the devil forces?

Nobody can tell you what exactly allah[swt] has planned for the world where we live in...but you should know my friend that allah[swt] is the best planner and his plans never fail....Its funny to see how we ismailis call our imam's as kali avatar...ie remover of evil but yet we are on our 49th imam and the world is still full of corruption and evil..it is only allah[swt] who can rid us from such things and he promised all his believers that he would show himself on judgement day

"Nay, surely, they (evil doers / non believers / Hypocrites) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day (the Day of Judgment).] (Al-Mutaffifeen - 15).

I may be right, I may be wrong.....to each his own !!

Shiraz,

Shiraz bhai you are trapped in your own words!! how? because you are saying in one quote that Allah has created human kind in his very own shape! that means Allah (swt) has shape and that shape is just like Human kind! Don't you believe this? please read your below quote and as per your below quote; Allah has shape I highlighted it for your quick attention:-
Allah[swt] has clearly said in simple terms in quran that allah[swt] has created humankind is his very own shape.....
Let we both agree on your above quote for a second that Allah (swt) has shape and that shape is like us Humankind.
Now read your another quote below in which you are trying to explain that Allah has no shape !!!??
Quote:
Allah is not the sun or the moon that you raise you head up and you would see him waving at you !!.....He is above all that you could thing, We humans treat him like one of us because we cannot imagine him in other forms

In your above quote you are trying to explain that Allah has no shape so we can see him.
Now can you please tell us which statement of yours is true? Allah has shape? or Allah doesn't has shape? you say some thing different in one quote and say something different in another quote
Matter of fact Allah Subhan Pak does not have any shape and that is what I am trying to explain in this forum for a long time, I don't change my statement in every other post.

Ahhhh...sometimes I do feel that Im debating with the child....agakhani bhai did you read what I said ...or should I ask did you understood what I wrote ? ....Read again brother :

Quote:
We humans treat him like one of us because we cannot imagine him in other forms

Ab dikha ????.....I did said that god created us in his own shape but did I said that his power stops right there ??....Even the unseen wind carries weight with itself so who am I to judge the power of allah[swt] ??...For me as he himself said that he created h.adam[as] with his own hands and again mentioned in bible that he created adam[as] in his own image is enough to understand that god is not chooo mantar wala god....your god and my god does have a shape and size but with the power that he can transform into anything and everything....How is this possible , well honestly i dunno

Sun and moon were just a few examples that I was trying to give in order to explain our brother that it is only oul AKL that restricts us to take god into bodily form ...what we see is what we assume, so naturally I may be right or I may be wrong in assuming that allah can take any shape, any form and any size !!

Im not trapped at all my fren, I said allah has a shape, size, weight and every incarnation allah[swt] might take....or every zaria[path] he takes to reach us can be physical....like if you're sad he might come in as a stranger and try to help you out.

We are not playing trap trap here agakhani bhai....if you dont understand you could ask me just like you did now !! icon_biggrin.gif .....I still uphold to what I said
