Mowlana Shah Karim and Begum Salimah arrive in Ottawa, received by Chief Protocol Officer Mr. L.H. Amyot, the Honorary Secrectary of the Admin. Committee for Ottawa Mr Azeem Motani and his wife Noorjehan. They came as guests of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Ottawa, 17 May 2016 — This afternoon, Mawlana Hazar Imam was at at Parliament Hill, where he received a warm welcome from the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau.

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome a dear friend to Canada, a dear friend to my family as well,” said Prime Minister Trudeau.

The pair met in the Prime Minister’s office at Centre Block to discuss “pluralism, diversity and all the things that Canada can contribute to offering more peace and stability in the world,” according to the Prime Minister.

Newly sworn-in Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited on Tuesday a delegation of the Ismaili Imamat and expressed his admiration for the global work carried out by Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

The Canadian premier met with the President of the Ismaili Council for Canada Malik Talib and the resident representative of the Aga Khan Development Network Dr Mahmoud Eboo. The three discussed areas of collaboration between the government of Canada and the Ismaili Imamat, according to The Ismaili.
