Pakistan President lauds Prince Aga Khan for promoting tourism

Aga Khan is a title held by the Imam of the Nizari Isma’ili Shias. Since 1957, the holder of the title has been the 49th Imam, Prince Shah Karim al-Husseini, Aga Khan, a business magnate with British citizenship, as well as a racehorse owner and breeder, after succeeding his grandfather.

Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa Aga Khan visit Pakistan 2018-11-29
Posted December 12th, 2018 by librarian-hd29 November 2018 - Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa Aga Khan travelled to Pakistan for a six-day working visit in late October 2018, which included stops in several districts of Gilgit-Baltistan as well as in Chitral district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, along with the capital city of Islamabad and the southern city of Karachi. During their visit, Prince Rahim and Princess Salwa examined approaches to poverty alleviation and development, and visited a number of AKDN institutions and projects aimed at improving quality of life.

The main theme of the project is to preserve this setting despite natural decay and the inevitable impact of recent changes, such as urbanisation which has begun to threaten the integrity of the built heritage.
