These are only a few statistics about the recent Golden Climate International Environmental Project Olympiad, held in Nairobi from Tuesday 29th April to Friday 2nd May.
The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, an education centre that promotes holistic learning and international leadership participated in the fourth annual edition of the Golden Climate Science Competition, held by the Light Academy Schools in Nairobi.

German insurer buys into Jubilee Holdings 2020-09-30
Posted September 30th, 2020 by librarian-hdThe African subsidiary of the global insurer and asset manager Allianz plans to buy an eight per cent stake in Kenya’s Jubilee Holding Plc (JHL
The offer, subject to regulatory approvals, will see the Germany based firm acquire a controlling stake of between 51 and 66 per cent in Jubilee’s General Insurance business Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi and Mauritius, forming Jubilee-Allianz General Insurance Limited.
JHL will retain ownership of its Life and Pensions operations and its Medical insurance business in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

Nairobi — A teachers' excellence training academy, the first one of its kind in East Africa, has today, September 23, 2020, opened its doors, thanks to the Aga Khan University (AKU).
The Teachers' Academy is set to bring a new experience in teaching in higher education. It will be Aga Khan University's first interdisciplinary academies of its kind in the region.

Aga Khan Academy sets IB exams record 2020-09-03
Posted September 4th, 2020 by librarian-hdStudents at Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa have achieved record-breaking results in this year’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) amid the challenging Covid-19 learning period.
Top scorers have received admission call-ups to a number of prestigious universities including Yale and Cambridge. The students have further been offered over $7 million (Sh800 million) in university scholarships. The students attributed their success to hard work.

Aga Khan Hospital to offer free COVID-19 tests for inpatients 2020-05-
Posted May 22nd, 2020 by librarian-hdNAIROBI, Kenya, May 21 – The Aga Khan University Hospital has started conducting free COVID-19 tests for all in-patients, surgical and day surgery patients, in a precautionary measure aimed at combating the spread of the virus.
The hospital said the move will help it determine the best approach to care for its patients including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) during their admission.

Prince Rahim’s visit to Kenya took place in his capacity as Chair of the AKDN Environment and Climate Committee (ECC), which was recently established to develop a policy framework on priorities related to the environment and climate change for implementation by AKDN globally.

How Kenyatta's Control of Nation Media Was Thwarted
Posted September 27th, 2019 by librarian-hdKenya’s first president, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, once tried to get one of his relatives to control the Nation Media Group.
In a 2010 book titled The Birth of a Nation: The Story of a Newspaper in Kenya, Gerard Loughran, a former senior editor at the Daily Nation, narrates what transpired after Kenyatta made a proposition for one of his kinsmen to lead the firm.
After the Aga Khan opened Serena Hotel in a ceremony attended by Kenya’s founding father on February 16, 1976, Mzee introduced the businessman to his chosen candidate.

Work for your dreams, Joho, Hensley urge budding basketballers at Aga Khan Academy - Mombasa

Hensley, visited the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa to meet the school’s girls and boys basketball teams in light of their numerous high-level achievements, most notably in the National Games and with the Giants of Africa basketball camps.
After watching the teams play, Joho and Hensley spoke to the teams about the importance of being active in sports while also striving to perform well in academics.
