City Park face lift: Aga Khan, govt. sign agreement

The government and the Aga Khan Trust have formalized the project to restore the Nairobi City Park. His Highness The Aga Khan and Prime Minister Raila Odinga signed the agreement to rehabilitate the Park at the Nairobi National Museum paving the way for the Aga Khan Trust to embark on the rehabilitation early next year.

Posted March 16th, 2023 by librarian-hdDiamond Trust Bank (DTB) has announced a commitment to grow its lending to green projects to a quarter of its loan book by 2030. The Bank has also committed to achieve net zero carbon emissions status across its group operations by the same time.
DTB will also grow 10 million trees by 2030 through its #MuchMoreThanTrees initiative, as part of its efforts to help mitigate climate change.
The Bank announced the commitments during its inaugural economic and sustainability forum held at the Crowne Plaza in Nairobi and themed Embedding Sustainability in Businesses.

Aga Khan Foundation to train 13,000 youths
Posted September 10th, 2018 by librarian-hdThe large number of young people in the Northeast need opportunities to be self-reliant instead of looking for scarce white collar jobs, the Aga Khan Foundation has said.
To achieve this, the government should work together with the private sector and the civil society, the foundation’s manager for Coast and North Eastern Atrash Ali said.
The organisation intends to train 13,000 youths in Garissa, Mandera and Lamu.
Ali distributed training and business equipment to 13 youth groups on Saturday. He said up to 75 per cent of the population in the region are below 35 years.
