The foundation stone for the Karimabad Maternity Home was laid by His Royal Highness The Aga Khan on March 17, 1976. Its inauguration on 24th March, is another achievement in His Highness's endeavour to meet 'the ever increasing demands from people of all faiths and origins for the highest standards of medical attention and patient care.'

Parma, Italy, 30 March 2007 - Inauguration of “Splendori a Corte”, an exhibition of rare art and manuscripts from the Aga Khan Museum collections being shown at the Palazzo della Pilotta in Parma. In addition to the exhibition, the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, in collaboration with the Teatro Regio di Parma and Parma Capitale della Musica, presented a programme of sacred music from Central Asia.

Prince Karim Aga Khan had a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz who later hosted a dinner for Him. The Prime Minister said that Prince Karim Aga Khan in keeping with the traditions of his forefathers is making invaluable contributions in establishing centers of excellence in the field of education, health, tourism and architecture which are reflective of his abiding commitment and faith in Pakistan.

Prince Amyn Aga Khan toured the site of the scenic Kampala Serena Hotel, now undergoing renovation, ahead of its opening on July 11.

The Government of Canada today welcomed the decision by the Aga Khan Development Network to establish the Global Centre for Pluralism in Canada. The Government of Canada intends to contribute $30 million to the endowment set up by the Aga Khan Development Network for the establishment of the Centre. Located in Ottawa, the Global Centre for Pluralism will be a not-for-profit, non-governmental institution with a mission to promote pluralism as a fundamental human value and a foundation for good governance, peace and human development.

His Highness the Aga Khan will visit Norway on 6 and 7 April. The purpose of which is to strengthen the development co-operation between Norway and the Aga Khan Development Network in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Minister of International Development Hilde F. Johnson will host the visit.His Highness the Aga Khan will also be the keynote speaker at a seminar entitled 'Democratic Development, Pluralism and Civil Society' at the Norwegian Nobel Institute on 7 April.

His Highness the Aga Khan attends the International Conference on the Dialogue among Civilisations, Cultures and Peoples at the UNESCO, Paris. The Conference in Paris was attended by more than 300 participants. According to the Quotidien Le Soleil of Senegal the Aga Khan was among the attendees.

OTTAWA - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, today announced 74 new appointments to the Order of Canada. Recipients will be invited to accept their insignia at a ceremony to be held at a later date. His Highness the Aga Khan is appointed as Honorary Companion of the Order of Canada. The citation reads as follow: Personifying cherished Canadian values, His Highness the Aga Khan has devoted his life to protecting the environment and alleviating human suffering due to poverty.

The US$ 30 million project was designed as an agent for economic development, and has become a case study for creative solutions to a spectrum of challenges facing historic cities, including ecological rehabilitation. The project includes the excavation and extensive restoration of the 12th Century Ayyubid wall and the rehabilitation of important monuments and landmark buildings in the Historic City. It also encompasses an extensive social development programme, including apprenticeship arrangements, housing rehabilitation, micro-credit and health care facilities.

Islamabad - Pakistan Observer : The Spritual leader of the Ismaili Community, His Highness The Aga Khan held a detailed meeting with President General Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi Sunday evening. The President thanked the Aga Khan for his invitation to inaugurate the First Micro-Finance Vabk and the Serena Hotel, Islamabad. President Musharraf lauded the tremendous contribution to various philanthropic and social development programmes being undertaken by the Aga Khan worldwide, particularly in Pakistan.

Kabul, Afghanistan - His Highness the Aga Khan, Imam (spiritual leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and Mr. Hamid Karzai, Chairman of the Interim Authority of the Government of Afghanistan today signed an Agreement of Cooperation for Development that establishes an operating framework for the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in Afghanistan.
