It is a very happy occasion to open this hospital today and I hope that it will continue to serve My community and other Pakistani residents in this area as it had been doing in the past. I take this occasion to add a point of extreme importance. Dr. Alidina kindly mentioned the hospital in Nairobi and those of you who have been to Nairobi and have seen the institution there know that we have not taken into account expenses in terms of opening first class service.

We have felt that everywhere that we start an institution for health today, it is more important to give the highest standard for medicine rather than to keep the costs perhaps lower than it would be if we were to give moderately good service. The most important thing for us is to set a standard so that the new things that come up, have to come up to the standard, and can never fall below.

This is a point which I emphasize and I am sure those good doctors who are working here are quite aware of it. I look forward when I come back to Pakistan, perhaps in a year or so, to have an occasion to visit this hospital and to see how well and successfully it is running.
