Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi (AKUH,N) has donated over 20,000 Covid-19 testing kits valued at Ksh 44 million to the Ministry of Health to boost its Covid-19 response.

The donation is financed by the German government through a grant offered by the German Development Bank (KFW) to AKUH,N and the Aga Khan Health Services, East Africa, to boost their Covid-19 response and support the public health system.

Aga Khan University becomes first academic entity in Africa to gain ACGME-I accreditation

Aga Khan University has become the first in Africa and South Asia to be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education International (ACGME-I).

The university’s departments that were accredited are the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) in Nairobi and Karachi.

“The sponsoring institution applications from Aga Khan University in Karachi and Nairobi were awarded initial accreditation in a peer driven review process,” said ACGME-I Executive Director Lorraine Lewis.

At the Aga Khan Academy, Nairobi proudly housed in in a building over 86 years old. It’s beautiful grey stones, weather worn are embellished by a date 1934 in English and in Gujerati.

In 1934 the building was complete, surrounded by the verdure of City Park and all the old trees surrounding it.

The cassia were planted for their fine yellow blossoms.
