SUMMARY OF EVENTS



Monday November 5, 2001. Mowlana Shah Karim arrived in Aleppo at 10:30 AM. From Noon to 1:00 PM He visited the Citadel of Aleppo where he gave an interview to a lady journalist. Officials and people of the press accompanied him. He hosted a welcome dinner for the AKAA guests at Dar Zamaria. Wednesday November 7, 2001: Mowlana Shah Karim attended the AKAA Winners' Seminar during the day with Prince Hussein, Princess Zahra and Mr. Boyden. He made the Closing Remarks around 5:00 PM. He received the Insigne d'Honneur' presented by Mr. Vassilis Sgoutas, president of the UIA, the International Union of Architects. Friday November 9, 2001: After meeting the Ismailis of al Khawabi at 10:00 AM, Mowlana Shah Karim was hosted for a lunch at the house of Dr Shaheera. He arrived in Masyaf to visit the fort with Princess Zahra, Mr. Boyden and Prince Amyn. In Masyaf, he was given an 8-pound Silver memento on which 7 horses were carved. He received the Key of the City and joked that it was very heavy. To which the Mayor reply that it was not only the Key of the City but it was also the key of the Fort. 50,000 inhabitants of Masyaf waited patiently in the streets for Hazar Imam's car to arrive. Saturday November 10, 2001: On this Saturday morning, Mowlana Shah Karim arrived from Hama to Salamieh and he first visited the Mosoleum of his late father, Prince Aly Solomon Khan where he offered Fatiha. He then met the Jamat which had gathered in large number (around 150,000) to listen to his Irshad. This was the culmination of 7 days of celebrations by the Salamieh Jamat. The people of Salamieh had decorated the city with millions of flags and welcome banners and chanted and danced in the street every night, and the whole night Friday before the arrival of the Imam.
